How does one prevent cats and dogs from peeing on outside plants and flowers?

My cats have been killing my outside plants.
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersI forgot where I got this stuff years ago, but it was bottled, artificial urine. I had a skunk problem, so I got deer urine and put it on the cotton balls on golf tee%26#039;s that it came with, and the skunks problem went away.

I know that it sounds really gross, but if you look at it as a top of the food chain thing... the dogs and cats won%26#039;t pee where a larger predator has been.
Reply:i doubt its the pee they r spraying thats killing the plants...but u can get then spayed......other than that ...it is their way of marking their territory........its their instincts!

u can spray them with the water bottle everytime they do it......maybe they will catch on that u dont like it when they do it.
Reply:Cats don%26#039;t care for orange, put orange peel where they pee. Don%26#039;t know about dogs. I think mixing cayenne pepper in water and spraying it around is supposed to be a deterent. Give it a try.
Reply:I am not sure about dogs but for cats we bought a wonderful product called ROAR. This is dried Lion Poo. It stops the cats peeing etc because they think they are in a bigger cat%26#039;s territory. It is available from good garden centres.
Reply:Just drop a few moth balls on the ground near the plants that you dont want animals around. They also help to repel snakes.nanny
