Strawberry plants aren't getting flowers?

I planted everbearing strawberries, when i first got them they had some flowers which turned to strawberries but then got dark and shrivelled, now the plants are much stronger with lots of new leaf growth, but they arent getting any flowers, the leaves just keep coming.

and for feeding/fertilizing? what fertilizer should i use and is that the same as feeding? because people say feed them twice a year, but the fertilizer says like once every 3 weeks so what do i do?
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersSince you have your strawberries growing in pots, you should snip off the runners that develop (due to lack of planting area)and that all the energy can be directed to the primary plant.

Strawberries don%26#039;t require that much nitrogen and in order to promote more flowering, you should be using a fertilizer such as a 5-10-10 every three to 4 weeks during the growing season. By applying a fertilizer high in nitrogen, you%26#039;ll get lots of leaves forming but few berries.

Here%26#039;s a helpful hint to prolong the shelf-life of your strawberries; Try misting a little foliar calcium (sold as calcium chloride by Monterey Garden Products) diluted with water over your berries while they%26#039;re growing. The calcium will help prevent your berries from becoming bruised easily and lessen the desication process. It is very safe and you can spray it every 2 weeks. It%26#039;s a practice many growers use to help keep their produce and fruit fresher while also increasing their shelf-life.

You can also spray foliar calcium on your apples during development to help prevent bitter pit.

Hope this solves your problem. GOOD LUCK!

Reply:Everbearing will produce later on in the season and continue right through until a frost . Just let them grow and they will produce berries. I fertilize mine every couple of weeks because my soil isn%26#039;t the greatest. I do weed around the plant every week and i put down sawdust around the plant to help keep the weeds back and it gives some cushioning for the berry when it gets heavy and droops instead of letting it sit on the dirt. Hint: pinch off the runners if you want more berries from the plant but you can not transplant the runners as new plants. Or just let them grow and your plants will be bigger next year.acting resources
