Reply:hostas, which come in a huge number of colors are great for shady spots. (by colors, mostly shades of green with cream/yellow thrown in on the varigated ones)
As far as flowering plants, impatiens are awesome, so are trillium, bleading heart, cyclamen, astilbe, all kinds of ferns, there are a lot of different colors of coleus, including pinks, yellows, and reds.
Niko Blue Hydrangeas can grow in the shade, and they%26#039;re absolutely gorgeous.
Caladiums come in a lot of bright colors, and some of them have beautiful, enormous leaves.
Crocuses, and some kinds of daffodils grow well in the shade. Crocuses bloom very early in the spring.
A lot of what you get needs to be determined by what %26quot;zone%26quot; you live in (what is the average low temp in your area), and what kind of soil you are planting in.
Reply:I know I just recently planted some foxgloves, and they%26#039;re supposed to be good for shady spots, they get about 4 ft tall, though. Not sure what you%26#039;re looking for, but I think they are really pretty.
